New Pals in Palworld 1.0: Where to Find and How to Catch Them
Updated: 2026-07-17
How many new Pals in 1.0, and where
The 1.0 update added 72 new Pals — 47 brand-new species plus 25 elemental variants of familiar forms — and the Paldeck grew to 287. Most newcomers live in the two new regions, the Sunreach sky islands and the World Tree, while the rest are scattered across seven new islets and reworked biomes on the old map.
Finding them is easy: in the Paldeck they carry a “New 1.0” badge, and the interactive map shows a given Pal's spawns — the button on a Pal's page jumps straight to its locations.
Best early new Pals
You can start collecting newcomers within the first hours — several live on the starting stretch of the main map. Pupperai shows up right by the starting area, is easy to catch and makes a solid early gatherer. Clovee appears near the Syndicate tower and further north — also a gatherer, and it raises the Gathering level of your base Pals.
Wispaw stands out — a Dark Pal active at night: its partner skill raises the catch rate on back throws, so it pays off as a “catcher” for the rest of the game.
Best base workers among the newcomers
Several new Pals top out the work skills outright. Renjishi is the game's only Kindling level 8 Pal, king of the furnace; Aegidron is the only Mining level 8 Pal, the best miner; Solenne is Handiwork 8, the best crafter; Silvance is Medicine 8, a top healer; Dandilord is Planting 8, the best farmer.
For an early-to-mid base, Puffolt (+1 Generating Electricity to all base Pals) and Amione (+1 Watering to all) pull their weight. Use the base planner to pick a lineup for your specific jobs.
New mounts
Legendary and boss newcomers
The strongest new Pals guard the endgame. Astralym is a six-winged dragon and the final boss of the World Tree; Shaolong is a tower boss on Sunreach; and Silvance, Renjishi and Dandilord appear as level-78 alphas inside the World Tree.
Where exactly to find the legends and how to counter them is in the how to catch legendary Pals guide. The separate quest for the whale Panthalus is covered in the Paloxite guide.
How to catch the late-game Pals
Newcomers from Sunreach and the World Tree are high-level and catch poorly on cheap spheres. Bring top-tier spheres — the Legendary, Ultimate or Ancient Sphere (the last is gathered from chests and supply drops on Sunreach) — whittle targets down to almost no HP, land status effects (frozen Pals are easier to catch — Muffly in your party helps here) and wear the Ring of Mercy so you don't finish a Pal off by accident.
Raise your capture power in advance with Lifmunk Effigies. To squeeze the most out of the odds, read how to increase your catch rate, and estimate the percentage on a specific Pal in the capture calculator.
