The World Tree in Palworld: How to Reach It and What's Inside
Updated: 2026-07-17
What the World Tree is
The World Tree is the endgame region of the 1.0 update and the finale of the main story. It's where the closing questline, “The Sealed Calamity”, plays out, and the region sits on its own sub-map — on our interactive map you open it with a toggle. You'll want to arrive around level 80, with top gear and a prepared team.
It's not just another location: here you gather the resources for two key endgame systems — Pal Awakening and endgame weapons — and clearing it closes the main story.
How to unlock access
The World Tree is sealed until the very end of the game. First you must beat every tower boss across three regions — Palpagos, Feybreak and Sunreach. Then complete the quest for the giant whale Panthalus: gather four Echobones, craft the Echoing Flute, summon and catch the whale, and with it in your party activate the terminal at the tree's energy barrier.
That quest is the mandatory key to the region; a step-by-step with the bone hunt is in the Paloxite guide.
Inside: bosses and Pals
Inside wait three level-78 boss alphas — Silvance, Renjishi and Dandilord: defeating them drops the inner barrier. The final door opens with eight Key Spheres, awarded for the eight faction towers.
Beyond it is the final fight: Astralym paired with the NPC Zanara, level 80 and roughly 420,000 HP combined. Note that Astralym looks like a dragon but has no element — elemental countering doesn't work on it, so lean on raw damage and survivability.
Hazards and preparation
The tree itself is a hostile environment. There are radiation zones, guarded against by the Corrosive Mist Mask, plus explosive spores and toxic gas — immunity to which comes from keeping Silvance and Dandilord in your party.
Bring top weapons and armor, awakened combat Pals and plenty of healing. Healing springs are scattered around the region to restore your team between fights.
Why go: the rewards
The main reason to keep coming back is Radiant Gems, which drop only here and fuel Pal Awakening. This is also where you mine Paloxite ore for endgame weapons, plus Mythical Wood. One catch: to gather these at all you must first apply World Tree Holy Water to yourself and your active Pal — otherwise the nodes and gems vanish as you approach.
Local Pals can carry the rare Dimensional Leap passive: it speeds up movement by 50% and lets you gather the tree's resources without Holy Water (at the cost of +15% hunger). And clearing the final boss for the first time counts as the ending of Palworld's main story.
