Where to find and how to get Ancient Bone in Palworld

Where to mine Ancient Bone

Ancient Bone has a single source — hand-mining in Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, at the far northeast of the map. It's a sandy island where large stone 'skeletons' jut from the ground — nodes shaped like ribcages and spines. Break one and it yields about 30 Ancient Bones.

Note: Ancient Bone does not drop from Pals, bosses, alphas or chests — only these world nodes in the sanctuary. Every node is pinned on the interactive map — enable the “Ancient Bone” layer and plan your route straight from the dots. Full breakdown on the item page — Ancient Bone.

How to get there and mine

Route: teleport to a desert statue (Deep Sand Dunes or The Furthest Flats) and fly northeast to the sanctuary island on a glider or flying mount. Sanctuaries are patrolled by PIDF drones: under the dome a drone hits you with a red beam, so approach from the air and avoid getting spotted.

The nodes are large, so bring a high-tier pickaxe — or better, a Plasma Multicutter, which breaks them much faster. Watch your carry weight: one bone weighs 8 units and a backpack fills fast — plan several trips or bring a hauler Pal.

What Ancient Bone is for

Ancient Bone is an endgame material for high-tier accessories crafted from schematics: various emblems (e.g. the Dogen Emblem and Silvegis Emblem) and charms, plus the top-tier Air Walker boots. Each such item costs 30–60 bones, so a full set means several trips to the sanctuary.

Don't confuse it with regular Bone

Regular Bone is a completely different, early resource obtained another way: it drops from many early Pals (e.g. Vixy and Rushoar), is produced on the ranch and sold by the wandering trader. It goes into medicine, cement and gliders. You can't upgrade regular Bone into Ancient Bone — they're different items with different sources.
