Palworld Ancient Technology: Parts, Cores & Points — How to Get Them
Updated: 2026-07-07
Short answer: where to get ancient tech
Ancient Technology Points come from fighting bosses. Each syndicate tower boss awards +5 points, and with 7 towers that's up to 35 points in total. Open-world alpha pals and dungeon bosses give +1 point for your first win. You can gain one more point from a consumable, the Ancient Technical Manual, which most often sits in chests.
Ancient Civilization Parts are a crafting material: they drop, guaranteed, from every alpha, tower boss and raid boss. Ancient Civilization Cores are much rarer — you loot them from oil rigs. The points themselves are spent in the technology tree — on the egg incubator, the grappling gun and sphere launchers.
How to earn Ancient Technology Points
The main source of points is the syndicate tower bosses: Grizzbolt, Lyleen, Faleris and the rest. Each grants +5 points, but only once — re-clearing a tower gives nothing extra. Beat all seven towers as early as you can and that's an instant 35 points. The full roster and elemental weaknesses are on the bosses page.
Open-world alphas and the bosses of fixed 'boss-room' dungeons each give +1 point the first time you defeat or capture them. Randomly generated roaming dungeons give none, so focus on the large fixed sites — they're easy to scan on the dungeon map.
Because boss points are one-time only, your next source is the Ancient Technical Manual. It's a consumable: using it adds +1 point and is destroyed. In our data the manuals most often turn up in chests, Syndicate camps and even while fishing, plus raid-boss loot — raids need a Summoning Altar, which unlocks around level 33.
Ancient Civilization Parts and Cores
Ancient Civilization Parts are the backbone material of ancient tech, and they're easier to get than you'd think: every alpha and boss drops them, guaranteed — from tiny alphas like Mau and Melpaca up to Anubis, Jetragon and Necromus — 1 to 8 at a time. Many advanced recipes need several parts, so farm them from bosses ahead of time.
Ancient Civilization Cores are far rarer — the in-game text calls them 'nearly impossible to find on the islands.' Cores are almost always in oil rig loot and in the toughest end-game content, and they go into top-tier structures and gear.
The Ancient Technical Manual can't be bought or crafted — only found. But you can use it any time to add a technology point once the bosses are all cleared out.
What to spend points on: the tech tree
Your first and most useful point purchases are the Egg Incubator (level 7, 1 point) and the Grappling Gun (level 12, 1 point). The incubator hatches pals from eggs, while the grappling hook dramatically speeds up traversal and opens up hard-to-reach spots.
After that, points go into electric and large incubators, upgraded grappling hooks, the Scatter Sphere Launcher and other sphere launchers, mining sites (iron, coal, sulfur, pure quartz), lockpicking tools, jump and dash boots, and the Summoning Altar for raid bosses — usually 2 to 5 points per node. The whole tree, with levels and costs, is in the technology section.
Farming points and parts faster
The optimal route is to clear all seven towers as early as possible for a guaranteed 35 points, mopping up alphas and dungeon bosses for +1 each along the way. That way you bank both the points and your first stockpile of parts at once.
Boss points are one-time, but Ancient Civilization Parts drop on every re-kill — so alphas are worth farming again and again for materials. Grab Cores from oil rigs, and Ancient Technical Manuals from chests and Syndicate camps.
